The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency have announced in a recent release that the organisation has taken control of the Joint Approvals Unit for Periodic Training. Also known as JAUPT, the unit administers Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC) and drink-drive rehabilitation (DDR) training.

Previously JAUPT provided these services exclusively for the DVSA. The decision has been taken to bring it fully in house. Existing staff have been offered the opportunity to join the DVSA.

There will be no changes to Driver CPC courses as a result of the decision.
