Every 4 years an Approved Driving Instructor should receive a standards check every 4 years. However the backlog for standards checks has reached the level where it is unlikely to be dealt with any time soon. Instead the DVSA have introduced a new system to arrange standards checks for instructors who demonstrate the most pressing
