Independent driving instructor finding service Get Britain Driving has announced the results of their Driving Instructor Awards for 2024. Along with the 12 top driving instructors in the country, the awards commend a further 12 instructors and honour the best driving school, content creator, product and driving instructors association in the country.

The awards are judged by the service owners, James Buchannan and Paul Puesly.

Along with the awards in several regional categories, the judges awarded a national driving instructor of the year to Alin Ciuperca from the East of England and commended Chris Allsopp of the East Midlands.

The Driving School of the Year award was given to SmartLearner Driving School with Insight 2 Drive highly commended. TikTok creator Daniel Smith took the award for content creator of the year while DITC founder and theory test expert Chris Benstead was commended in this category.

Product of the Year went to Total Drive. The diary management and financial tracking software impressed the judges as an all-in-one solution for ADIs. Commended in his category was ADI Kit, the CPD provider set up by Mick Knowles and Lee Jowett. Their standards check workshop was well received by delegates when they visited Sheffield in 2023.

The Services to the Driver Training Industry award was given to Louise Walsh who sadly and suddenly passed away last year.

Highly commended in the Yorkshire & The Humber award was our very own Becky Seaton.

The Driving Association of the Year category stood out as the only category where there were no highly commended results. The clear winner in the category, the Sheffield and District Driving Instructors Association impressed the judges with our work in the community and focus on CPD.

The judges said, ‘The S&DDIA has had excellent growth of members since its formation in 2019. With a focus on training CPD both for ADI members, Pupils & parents, they are doing a great deal to improve the learning in Sheffield as well as safe driving through work with the local council and RoSPA.’

Mark Cornford, Chairman of the SDDIA said, ‘I am delighted that the SDDIA has been named Driving Association of the Year. The award is a recognition of the hard work put in by the committee since we reformed the association 5 years ago. We couldn’t have achieved as much as we have without the support of our members and the volunteers who run the association. They are the ones who deserve this award.

‘I’m also delighted that Becky Seaton, one of our newer ADIs has been recognised for the great work she is doing with learner drivers in Sheffield.’
