The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) have recently launched a new campaign designed to help learner drivers prepare for their practical driving test. The message hinges on five key points which combined, show your driving hits test standards and you may be ready to take to the road on your own.

These key points are:

  • You do not need prompts from your driving instructor.
  • You do not make silly mistakes when you are driving.
  • You can pass mock driving tests.
  • You can control your nerves.
  • Your driving instructor agrees you are ready.

Of course this assumes you have a driving instructor, if you don’t you can search for one on the right. You may also choose to learn with friends or family; if you do it may be worth looking to take a lesson or two with an instructor as well when you are nearing test. It’s good practice for test day and can help prepare you for the nerves.
