The Sheffield and District Driving Instructors Association is run by an organising committee which is voted on during the Annual General Meeting. Currently the committee is comprised of seven members:

Chairman: Mark Cornford.

Mark Cornford serves as our chairman and also as chair of our near neighbours the Chesterfield Driving Instructors Association. Mark is a working independent driving instructor and ORDIT trainer and has formerly worked as an Examiner for the DVSA.

Secretary: Allan Smith.

Allan Smith is the Secretary of the Association and as such is the main point of contact for members and non-members alike. Allan also works as an instructor and runs Horizon School of Motoring.

Treasurer: Chris Wood.

Chris Wood handles the money for the Association as treasurer. Also a working driving instructor, Chris works with RED Driving School.

Committee Member: Louise Ruder.

Louise Ruder is a driving instructor and taxi trainer. She also runs the local team for Young Driver, providing pre-17 driving lessons. As a committee member Louise has no specific duties to the Association but works with the rest of the committee to organise events and meetings throughout the year and to make decisions about how the Association is to be run.

Committee Member: Dawn Glover.

Dawn Glover is a driving instructor in Sheffield. As a committee member Dawn has no specific duties to the Association but works with the rest of the committee to organise events and meetings throughout the year and to make decisions about how the Association is to be run.

Special Needs Consultant: Lee Pollard.

Lee Pollard is a specialist driving instructor teaching pupils with special needs. Lee is an expert in teaching pupils with specific educational needs, disabilities and medical conditions. This includes both learner drivers and qualified drivers, who need to be retrained after becoming disabled. Lee has a fully adapted tuition vehicle. His role on the SDDIA committee is to give advice to association members, who are teaching pupils with special needs.

Lee is a honorary member of SDDIA. He is also a director of Disability Driving Instructors. His role as a director of Disability Driving Instructors is to organise and deliver online CPD training courses for ADIs wanting to learn more about teaching pupils with special needs.

Committee Member: Nick Smith.

Nick Smith is a driving instructor and Driver CPC trainer operating in Sheffield and also works as a motorsport journalist and photographer. Whilst Nick is a Committee Member without specific portfolio, he builds and manages the Association website.
